Hi!. The size of the lump that you describe is rather large if it's half the size of your testicle!. Let me ask!. Is the lump on the upper side of the testes as in on the point of the smaller curve or is it on along the long side of the testicle!? There is a part of the testicle called the epididymis that is about a third the size of the testicle that is on the top side of the "egg"!. It's usually described like a bag of worms!. It feel wriggly and soft/mushy!. If you naturally hang low or after a hot shower, you may feel the epididymis more readily while rolling your testes on the palm of your hand!. If this is what you feel, there's nothing to be concerned!. I felt mine first as an adult and was concerned, but after having read about it, I realized it was normal!. Many men, unless they explore themselves, usually don't know it's there!. If the lump you have is hard or along the length of the testicle, you may want to have it checked by a physician!.

Let me say that about five years ago, I started feeling pain and soreness on my right testicle!. About a week or so later, I felt a pea-sized lump on my testicle that was sore to the touch!. I knew this wasn't normal and had never discovered it!. I went to the doctor that week, and he felt it as well, so I was ordered to have a sonogram of my right and left testicle!. Apparently, I had what is called a hydrocele - a benign water tumor!. My physician stated that these hydroceles are not really any cause for concern unless it starts to grow!. Why the pain!? I was very sick from my stomach for a few weeks and was very bloated!. Since my intestines and general abdominal walls were so inflamed, this caused a "push" of my abdominal cavity down onto my bladder and so on!. This domino effect caused my testicles to be "tugged" downwards a bit more than usual and irritated this hydrocele!. A year later, my water tumor disappeared and is no longer felt!.

I hope I was able to help!. Still if you have any doubts, seek medical guidance!.
