If you are truly caught in the zipper of your pants, then you are going to have to go reverse of the direction that caught it!.
You need to do this like you were taking a bandaid off a hairy spot on your body!.
Firmly grasp the zipper, hold the pants so the zipper is not kinked, take a deep breath and with a quick decisive move, pull the zipper down!. Have a cloth or some thing ready if there is any bleeding, and for heavens sake, if it looks like hamburger, get up to the doc (ER) fast!.

Best treatment is to inject a little local anesthetics around the caught skin!.!.!.!.!.!. (Sky is right ) You destroy that zipper and open it from the bottom up or from up down , it doesn't matter - you won't feel the pain anyway!!
