Why do men have to be so hard headed?!

Question: Why do men have to be so hard headed!?
My boyfriend (22) was trying to load his ATV into the bed of his truck and he did, an afterwords he grabbed his stomach and went to his knees and his eyes were watering!. I said "what did you do!!?!!? are you ok!!?" an he said "im fine, im fine" an got up and we drove to the house!. When we got there he said "i'll just unload the ATV tommarow, im a little tired" an i said i know you hurt yourself somehow jason you need to go to the hospital and he said no i dont im fine!. Lastnight i knew he was in pain because he even turned down sex (which is very unlike him, he'll take it 10 times in a day if i let him) He's just been saying i bed all day today, i asked if he wanted me to bring him to the ER and he claims he's fine an that he will be ok an to "stop busting his balls" Why do men have to be like this!? What should i do!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Brooke, most guys are taught from the time they are little kids that they have to be tough, i!.e!. "big boys don't cry" kind of stuff!.

What it means in later life is someone like your bf who will ignore injury and try to work his way through it!. That's ok if it's an ankle sprain or a pulled muscle, but it gets nasty when it's a heart attack or a stroke that they're ignoring!.

Part of it is due to the "big boys" but part of it is also due to the fact that many, many guys are afraid of going to doctors!. They have a thing about the way a doctor violates their touch/feel rules!. For example, if your bf managed to rupture himself while loading the ATV, the normal doctor examination would involve checking around his genitals and his lower abdomen to see what might be going on!. Most guys will shy away from that until the pain gets so bad that they have no other choice!. Stupid, I know, but it's their reality!.

Support him as much as you can but realize that chances are unless he gets some education, he's not going to change!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Perhaps he is afraid, and men don't like to be afraid!. He knows he hurt himself, and he wants to believe he will be just fine!. Don't insist he go to the hospital, he will rebel, keep an eye on him but don't nag!. If he gets worse perhaps you can call his mom or dad and have them come over to check on him!. They can insist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ah, the woes of testosterone!. I'm afraid it's just the nature of the beast hon!. He may however have given himself a hernia!. Which could potentially be more serious than you think if it should become a strangulated hernia!. All this is "potential" you realize!. So, If it requires it, i would enlist the help of his mom just to get him to the Dr!. to make sure everything is ok!. Better safe than sorry i always say!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

men are very afraid of doctors and hospitals, they think if they need medical help, they are dying!.if you'll convince him to go to ER go together and explain to doctor in detail what happened!.because if you let your men talk to the doctor, he'll say he's fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

He won't admit he has a problem:an ego thing:he needs to be stronger then you,
A load of bull:glad that I am not like that:pain is a signal that something is wrong!.
I would let him suffer:the fool!.

He is a man and men have to be tough and strong! My husband is the same way!. Men don't like to admit when they are hurt or in pain because they think it will make them look weak to us women!. Just let him know that you love him!. Tell him it would make you feel better if he went and had it checked out, then he wont be going because he is in pain but instead he will be going to please you and he won't feel weak!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
