You get the impression it is coarser, Due to the fact it is now the base of the hair re-growing!.
And i think your aim is to make it darker, Where female's want the opposite (Normally) So for them it appears darker, because it came back!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It does grow back darker, coarser etc!.
If you really feel the need to remove your chest hair (which i'll agree, is sexier usually) then you should get it waxed!.
Waxing does hurt a little bit but it keeps your chest smooth for much much longer then shaving it does and the hair does not grow back thicker or darker!.
