Pushups are mostly going to develop your pectoral (chest) muscles and your shoulder muscles!. One hundred is a pretty good regimen!. Adding more reps at this point will probably not add any more muscle mass!. Massive muscle fibers are built through fewer reps at higher weight!. More reps at a lower weight will build stamina, but that type of muscle tissue is not as bulky!.

If you want to build more mass in the chest and shoulders, you could start using a bench press, where you can use more than your own body weight!. WORK WITH A BUDDY, whose job it is to make sure you don't lose your grip and hurt yourself!. Get somebody who is about as strong or stronger than yourself!. Perhaps your dad, an uncle, older brother, cousin, pal from school !.!.!. or even a jock-ey older sister, aunt, girl cousin, girl from school - whoever likes to work out!. This is especially important if you're using free weights, not as essential if you're using a universal machine!. Start with enough weight that you can just manage to get the eighth rep finished!. Relax or switch to another exercise for a while, then later do another eight, and still later do your final set of eight!. They day after doing this, rest to let your muscles recover and rebuild themselves!. Continue this schedule until you can do ten reps at this weight, then increase the weight and lower the reps for the next step!.

Always work the full range of motion in a muscle!. If you just work the middle range you could end up muscle-bound - unable to move freely because the muscles get in their own way!.

If you want to develop your bicep muscles (upper arm, just above the elbow, inside) do curls with hand barbells or curl both arms at once with a long barbell!. The muscles on the other side are triceps!. You work those by using a pull-down bar!. The muscles in the forearm operate the wrist and the fingers, so you exercise those by doing wrist curls with the barbells and operating those squeezy hand exercisers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
