I have seen staph before on my dad!.!.!. he got it three times, but I never have had it!. Don't laugh, but I got this red bump on my pubic area right above the penis!. The bump itself isn't large but it has slight redness around the base about the size of a dime in circumference!. I was wondering, could this be an ingrown hair or the staph infection!? It hurts very bad!. Could this be from shaving my pubic hairs!? I'm very concerned about this!. Serious replies only plz!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have had a bump like that under my thigh from where I shave my pubic area also!.!.!.!.!.!.!. could be a boil from an infected hair!.
Try this --
Take a hot rag and hold it over the bump a couple times a day, to see if it goes away for couple of days!. What that does is makes it moist to where if it is an infected hair it will try to surface!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The red bump is an infection!. It could be staph, it could be strep, it could ge a gram neg rod!. There is no way to know without culturing it!.
Folliculitis is the infection you get from an ingrown hair and it is most likely from Staph, but could also be from strep!.
