Answers:
It's when you drink too much water!

think about your body!. You have a reserve of sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium, and protein!. Every electrolyte and osmolyte in your body contributes to the overall amount of fluid in the different compartments!.

When you drink excess water, that water gets distributed into the intracellular compartment, extracellular compartment (including interstitial and plasma)!. Effects of the water can be explained by looking at any of the compartments, but in one of the easiest ways to look at it is just by your electrolytes!.

Electrolytes are based off the concentration!. So if you increase the amount of fluid, without increasing the electrolytes, you decrease the concentration of those electrolytes!. Thus, your plasma sodium levels go down which causes hypo-polarization of neural membranes (actually all membranes)!. If severe enough, synapses will not fire and lead to death!.

Your kidneys will get rid of excess fluid, but that takes time and will waste salt in the process!.

Also, fluid will flow into the cells causing edema!. Edema in neurons is bad because then you can get cerebral edema and symptoms associated with that!.

The cure!? Drink salty water and diuretics!. This cure should be done be someone who knows what they're doing though!

If you drink garotade, it would be harder to become toxic because it contains the proper amounts of electrolytes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Too much water in combination with too little sodium is a serious health risk!. Drinking water in extreme can cause sodium levels in the blood to fall below normal, a condition called hyponatremia!.Symptoms of severe hyponatremia typically include lethargy, confusion, agitation, even seizures!. Unfortunately, these symptoms may be mistaken for signs of dehydration at a time when more water is the very last thing the body needs!. People exercising over long periods drink beverages containing electrolytes to reduce the risk of chemical imbalance, to maintain a proper fluid balance, and to ensure important body functions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, I believe the only way water would be toxic was if you didn't urinate, and you just continued to put more water in your body!. You must urinate to rid your body of the toxins!. It's not necessarily the "water" that is toxic!. !. !.it's the fact that your kidneys are filtering out the bad "stuff", for lack of a better term, and your body needs to excrete those harmful wastes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

LOL NO to much of anything will hurt you!. The reason why too much water is harmful is because by the time you run out of salt to use the water efficiently the water will dry out ur body and deplete you of you vitamins, salt and other things you need!. Your body will basically pee everything out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
