I'm sick of people saying it's a choice, honestly, your not gonna wake up one day and say to yourself "i'm gay!." It takes awhile for you to realize your not attracted to people opposite of your gender, but it's not your choice!. what do you think!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your sexuality is based in genetics!. When you are attracted to someone, you are responding to this person's pheromones (testosterone in men and estrogen in women)!. This is my observation, and you're free to take it as you will, but I believe homosexuality is a genetic fluke which is really meant to prevent a homosexual person from reproducing (this is before the advent of modern alternative medicine and reproductive methods such as surrogates, en vitro, etc!. al!.)!. Just as a man may be born with sterile testes or a woman with scarred fallopian tubes, homosexuality, as its genetically predisposed, is meant to prevent reproduction!.
A gay man is sexually aroused to the male pheromone just as a lesbian is attracted to the female pheromone!. Now physical characteristics, such as a preference for 'lipstick lesbians' or 'twinks' for example, is just that!.!.!.a preference!.!.!.a choice! Just as a heterosexual male may prefer slim blondes or a straight female may prefer 'men in uniform', there are physical preferences that exist in the gay community as well!. This should not, however, be confused with one's sexual orientation!.
Be mindful however that sexuality is not simply black and white so to speak, but rather a spectrum, with one end being 'absolutely hetero' and the other being 'absolutely homo'!. People (and animals - yes, homosexuality exists in animals and insects too) fall somewhere in this spectrum!. Thus the reason there are people who are bisexual!. Now, even in bisexuality, you will find that there are those who tend to have a preference for one gender over the other!. This all depends on where he/she falls in the spectrum!.

It's not a choice or something your born with!. A boys first emotional"sexual" relationship is with his father!. When dad sucks or the child percieves dad sucks then that need for identification with men is lost!. The need is natural and right, so the boy becomes a physically sexual being who trys and meet the fundamental emotional need with sex!. Completely over simplified but the basic truth!. People who think anyone would chose to be an outcast is nuts, and there's indesputable proof that it's not genetic!. i would say it can be a combination of choice and being born with it!. I think that some people have the potential to become homosexuals in the right environment!.
For example, when I was 13, one day I just had a sexual desire for men for the first time!. Before that, I had had a typical masculine childhood, and was very into girls!. However I suddenly thought I was gay one day without any evidence before that, and started thinking singularly about it!. I have determined a number of factors that caused it, and the chief one is that I started getting attached to men because I was backstabbed countless times by my male friends!. I started thinking that men should love each other!. My sexual attraction for girls greatly faded, although romantic and physical attraction did not!.
Now, quite a while later, I believe I had the choice back then whether to be gay or straight!. And I think I chose gay, which is why homosexuality is very dominant for me, even though I still am attracted to women, just not as much!. Right now I couldn't change it if I wanted to, but I think I had the choice, I just didn't recognize it!.
I think everyone has had a choice, but they didn't realize it always!. And there is no way homosexuality is entirely hereditery!. Because I was not born gay!. So let me ask a question to all the morons here who say it's a choice!.!.!. so if there is not chick around you would also screw guys!? Because if you are not born gay than you can also not be born straight !.!. or am I wrong there!? It's is deffinately no choice!. If a guy gets turned on by other guys from age 8 or so than nobody can tell me that it's a choice!. Also, more than 80% of twins are either both gay or straight!. How can anyone say unless you're gay, if you look at a persons history that may give you a clue, past sexual abuse by the opposite sex, or mental abuse, or possibly just more of the hormones that trigger attraction to same sex partners, no one can say what motivates another persons lifestyle!.!. I say it's something you're born with- sort of like your personality!. Any parent will tell you that even when their kids are babies, they generally keep the same personality throughout their lives!. It's just something that makes each person unique!. I don't think it is a choice for two reasons:
Who would choose it!? Particularly prior to 20 years ago when gays were beat up frequently!. Used to be called gay bashing among fraternities!. There were gays back then and who wants a beat down!? No one!.
I known one guy who I thought was straight!. He was 22 when I met him (Rob)!. He always had a girlfriend or was dating or having casual sex!. Every weekend he had parties at his house that started Fri night and ended Sunday morning or afternoon!. Legendary parties!. I wanted to hook up with some women, so I heard Rob's parties were the place to be!. Women loved him or more accurately were very attracted to him, wanted to sleep with him and they did!.
Six years later he came out and he was miserable!. His family ignored him from then on!. I remember him losing it one day in a bar, sobbing, I don't want to be this way!. I hate it!I'm a freak! I tried so hard to not be gay! But I am and it sucks!. He apologized to the women he slept with!. They were cool with it and didn't care!. Still hung out with him!.
His housemate moved out and about 1/3 of his friends were no longer his friends!. It put everyone in a "spot" back then!. If hung with Rob, people will think you're gay and risk getting bashed!. To me, Rob didn't change at all!. He just revealed something personal!. Some would call him a liar!. I didn't!. I chose to still go to his parties as many people did and I didn't care if people thought I was gay!.
From watching this unfold, watching him lose so much and hearing him say "I don't want to be this way, but I am!. The I tried so hard statement!. He really didn't want to be gay!. He viewed it like an illness or being disfigured!. Just not normal!. He hated himself!. He had a great life and by coming out, threw it away for a few years!. I thinks its nature and nurture!. I think some people choose!. I think others a born!. There is research that says that male homosexuality is linked to not getting enough testosterone in the womb, which results in a smaller hypothalamus!. Research also shows that many lesbians receive too much testosterone in the womb!. However, an alarming percentage of lesbians had poor relationships with their fathers, whether it be abuse, neglect, or the complete absence of a male role model!. My daughter has always liked women!. She was born that way!. She wanted to marry her kindergarten teacher (woman)!. At 10 she came out to her friends that she liked girls and they teased her so now, at 14 she claims bisexuality!. I believe this is to avoid the teasing!. she has had boyfriends but none that were of a sexual nature!.!.!.!.(In name only--- not even a little kiss or anything)!. I think sexual orientation is not ALWAYS a choice!.!.!. but often is!. Guys sometimes get turned onto guys as teenagers in the locker room or wherever and they just keep going with that 'choice'!.
