Hydrocele is a benign condition, just a filling up of the scrotum sac, usually on one side, with fluid that normally is drained off!. The surgery is to open the sac and remove a membrane, or to puncture the sac and drain out the fluid!. In either case there may be a return of the condition!.
It does not affect fertility!. There is no pain but maybe some discomfort because of the enlarged size of the testicle sac!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
