I don't have the reason for the last half but for men, most guys do a lot of the work (in most cases) during intercourse so when they finally finish, they are usually tired from the activity and the usual reaction is to lay down or go to sleep!.
For my girl anyways, I've noticed if we do in the daytime, she gets insanely energized and wants to go out and do things!. However, if it's nighttime, she usually passes out before me!. Go figure :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Men and women have different sexual cycles, or refractory periods, after sex!. A man's sexual excitement hits a high then must go all the way back to "normal" before going up again!. Women don't drop all the way back down after hitting a high - this accounts for the difference in the "pass out" phenomenon and also for multiple orgasms!.

When men have 'finished the job' a chemical is released into the body which causes drowsiness!. This is common in mammals, and is supposed to cause the male to rest, in order to recover his strength for hunting (and so forth)!. So it's a chemical reaction, rather than a reflection on what has gone before!

I don't understand the question!. Pass out!? You mean, go to sleep or crumple over in unconciousness!? If it's sleep, well, he's probably just finished huffing and puffing, sucking in a lot of his own carbon dioxide (called hyperventilating, I believe) at a very fast rate and naturally the lack of oxygen to the brain will make him sleepy!.
