I actually believe it is a sin to not help!. Because I really believe that if you are witnessing the event, and you have the ability to say to yourself, hmmm I should help, but no I am not going to!. Then you have directly defied Jesus because I think he put you there for that very reason because he knew you were capable of helping and yet you told him no!. I dont think you should go around looking for problems or trouble to solve, but you should help when the opportunity is presented to you because I believe it was or has been presented to you for a reason!.

It depends on the 'something'!.
If you see a cardiac arrest and do not know CPR but nevertheless do ineffective cardiac compressions then you will definitely be part of a huge problem (death or vegetable life)!. If you had stayed back and let someone else do effective compressions, you have actually 'helped' by not 'helping'!.
there is a 'status' in between 'solution' and 'problem' and this is the 'tao', or, the 'way'!. it means, just what IS!. it neither is a problem nor a solution, it just is!.
If you 'ride' the tao, you will be fine!.
if the 'something' is something obvious like someone being bashed or abused or neglected or something like that, you can obviously do a bit or a lot of 'helping' to divert the situation and to get back to some sort of peaceful situation!. if you then turn a blind eye, you can indeed feel (or be accused of) being part of the problem!. especially by the person being bashed or abused!. it is about weighing up your skills, options, possible help you can offer and possible delegation you can instigate (ring someone, alert police)!.
It is more an ethical or moral problem though and it should not be in 'men's health' unless you are a man and it is affecting your health LOL!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
