Heck yeah, guys are nervous the first couple times because they don't want to admit they don't know what they are doing down there!. The first few times I am sure I was terrible!. Then you don't know if you should lick or stick your tongue in!. For guys that don't know, stick with licking!.
But yeah, it is weird at first!. You have no idea how it will smell, taste or feel or know what feels good to you!. Plus all girls are different!. One thing that works for one may not work for all!.
