Should we do something about this???!

Question: Should we do something about this!?!?!?
my dad is 48 (about to be 49 in a few weeks) and he's been dealing with the pain of growing up!. He's done alot of stupid things in the past (he was a daredevil) and i think it's finally taking a tole on him!. He has medication but it doesn't help him that much!.

On Friday while he was on the computer with me in the room, he closed his eyes and held onto his leg!. I jumped up and asked him what was wrong and he said he couldn't feel anything in his left leg and left arm!. I told him to get up and get some circulation into those body parts but it stayed numb for a while!. I asked my dad if he needed to go the hospital and he turned down the offer!. he kept saying "no i'm fine!. i'm all better!." of couse i wouldn't believe him and i told him "Dad i will stay by your side the whole time while we're in the hospital even though i hate those places!." again he turned down the offer!. is there anything i can do for him!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello there,
It does sound difficult for you as you can't make him see the doctor, but it would be better if he did!. It's difficult to be certain without seeing him, but it could be a transient ischaemic attack!. That is a temporary shortage of blood to a part of the right side of his brain!. Don't get too worried, but just suggest again that he see the doctor!. He might need some adjustment to his pills!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

unfortunately you can't force him to go see a doctor, but once he is unconscious he has no say so,but by then it may be too late ! !
Some men are like that for some reason, they wait as long as possible and again the damage may be too bad to fix!.
You in a very tough position but commend you for caring for your dad ! !Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't care what he says I would take him to the hospital like ASAP it could be an early sign of a heart attach, stroke, or worst!. Tell him you love him that is why you want to do this for himWww@Answer-Health@Com

My father is much the same way, and he will not go to the hospital!. Once we forced him to go as he was going delusional with pain in his sciatic nerve!. Once he had the morphine in him at the hospital he went bazerco and tried to walk out of the hospital in his gown!.!.!. needless to say it was pretty embarrassing!.

While we were there the doctors found that he had an infection in his blood and that had we not brought him in he would have died in a few days!.

I do not regret the decision to take him in and would do it again if I felt it were nessisary!.

You are good to stand my your dad in support!. Many fathers would be proud, and I am sure he sees your support and loves you for it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
