Question: Brain cyst rule out being a pilot!?
Back in 7th grade I had a severe concussion and I found I have either a subarachnid cyst or arachnid cyst!. Whatever one is actually inside the brain!. They said that it was not exerting any pressure and did not hinder me in any way and that it was not a big deal!. Well the thing is I am getting into college to become an airline pilot and I was wondering if I will be able to pass the first class faa physical!. Would this cyst be an automatic denial of my medical certificate!? Should I not tell them even though there are medical records saying I have it!? If I am turned down for this it will crush my world!. A lot of people have these cysts and dont even know it!.!.!. Could finding it actually turn out to be a very bad thing for me!? I am so stressed right now!. It has always been my dream to be a pilot and if this stops me I will cry :*(

Let me put this in perspective for you from a passenger's point of view: You need to be totally upfront from the get go with your physical!. Now, that's not something normally checked!. But, you'd be in worse trouble if nothing were said, and then it was discovered!. The FAA doc will certainly review all of your charts from other doctors!. So you're probably gonna be found out about!.
