The prostate is a compound tubuloalveolar exocrine gland of the male mammalian reproductive system!. Women do not have a prostate gland, although women do have microscopic paraurethral Skene's glands connected to the distal third of the urethra in the prevaginal space that are homologous to the prostate!.

Basically it is a gland that produces seminal fluid that constitutes semen!. you can feel it by putting a finger up the anus as the prostate lies against the rectal wall!. Unfortunately for older men that is the purpose of the digital rectal exam (prostate exam)!. to ensure that it isn't enlarged, as it may pose a problem, cancer etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is located below the bladder and in front of the rectum!.
The prostate secrets a substance which becomes part of the seminal fluid!.

It's a gland below the bladder that is connected to the testes by a tube called the vans deferens!. Sperm from the testes travels through the vans deferens into the prostate gland where it mixes with a milky fluid to create semen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
