Wondering if I'm done growing...?!

Question: Wondering if I'm done growing!.!.!.!?
Hi, I'm 16 (male) ,17 in mid December and I'm only 5'6" and I've been that tall since I'm pretty sure 13 years old!. My mom is about 5' 2" and my dad is 5'9" maybe 5'10" and my sister is around the same height as my mom maybe an inch taller!. I also had xrays around last Dec and they said my skeleton was capped but then my pedatrician said there is still chance I will grow even with that information!. I'm not sure if he's just trying to tell me something I just want to hear just to make me happy though!. I also have almost a full beerd but it is still patchy and has been that was for more than a year now and I also hit puberty and my growth spurt way before most of the kids in my grade!. I also have kifosis (dont know how to spell it) which is kind of like scoliosis which runs in my family and I'm not sure if that affects anything with my growth besides me just appearing shorter!. So I'm just wondering I mean is it possible for me to stop growing at 13 that just doesnt seem very normal to meWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
You should continue growing past 13!. This is a question for the family doctor - "do you have more growth in you!?"

Anyone that has kyphosis or scoliosis may lose some height because the spine has curved!. I have a method for estimating how much height someone with scoliosis has lost but I don't have a method for someone with kyphosis!. Your doctor may have a kyphosis method!.

If you're curious about the scoliosis method!.!.!.

To tell how much height you've lost to the curve, pick a spot at the top and bottom of your spine and measure it with a tape!. Then run a string from the top to the bottom but follow the curve of your spine!. Straighten out the string and measure it!. The difference in the two measurements is the height you've lost to your curve!.

You won't get it all back, though!. How much depends on how flexible you are!. When your scoliosis specialist examines your back, bending left, right, and backwards will give your doctor an idea of how much curve can be recovered!. If your spine won't straighten out, forcing it to be straight will pinch nerves and possibly paralyze you!. So its far better to correct only as much as your spine can handle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your doctor is not going to tell you something just because it's what you want to hear!. He'd make more money off of you if there was a problem because you'd need additional treatment!. I think you should trust your doctor's opinion!. It sounds like you're ok!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your proctologist can answer this most accurately for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You do not stop growing until you are 21!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
