Hi I just need to know!. because i need to get a circumcision for a variety of reasons, and not for cosmetic reasons!. Mainly, it's for a painfully tight frenulum and not being able to fully retract my foreskin and also for hygiene reasons!. How much (roughly) would it cost a 17 year old male , with health insurance from tricare prime, to get an ordinary, locally anesthetized circumcision to be preformed in washington state!? Would insurance cover it fully/partially/or at all!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

it depends on the insurance company!. any circumcision done for medical reasons is covered!. From what you describe, you possibly have phimosis and frenulum breve!. either or both are considered medical reasons, so the insurance should cover it!. have your parents call the insurance company to make sure exactly what is covered and how!. Some will cover you in a hospital, some wont!. You also need to see an urologist!. thats a penis doctor and consult with him!. Talk to him about what method and style of circumcision that he will use!. there are different styles and methods!. the preferred method is the freehand or sleeve resection method!.

I am sure it may depend on where you live however, my wife just spent $ 275 to get our grandson done!. I am not sure what all it actually covered!. She mainly wanted him to feel no pain from it!. This is what started the process!.
Now when my son was born, we used a Jewish ceremonial type circumcision for the same reason!. My wife didn't want our son to feel anything!. This cost about $ 500 or more!. I can't remember!. It was 16 years ago with him!.
Good luck and please be sure your doctor has compassion towards this procedure because, a lot of doctors will say it doesn't hurt but, when you hear and see a newborn screaming, I would bet the doctors aren't telling the truth!.
They may not remember the pain but they Damn sure feel it!.

I believe if you have a true medical reason for the circumcision (pain, infection, phimosis), your doctor should be able to document this and the circumcision should be covered completely by tricare prime!. So as long as it is not for cosmetic reasons, it should be covered fully!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
