Question: My Grandpa needs to gain weight, How to help elderly gain weight!?
He is 77 years old and nervous and lost alot of weight and muscle tone from stress and anxiety related issues!. Doctors just want to put him on antidepressants but he doesn't like the side effects of dizziness he says!. What would be a good supplement to add weight, like whey protien or something!? You could always ask a GP or Perscribing Chemist about nutritional suppliments, i know you can get low sugar ones which are suitable for diabetics!.

Like i said see your doctor!. It cant hurt to ask especially if you have concerns!.

STEWS also help, use full fat gravy, made them for my granddad when he was ill, he gained weight =]

Also, visit a supplement shop and get some good tasting weight gainer!. a person at the place will definitely be able to tell you which taste the best and give you the most weight gain!.!.!.!.

when my grandma had to gain weight the doc had us make her milkshakes with ensure in them!.!.!. full fat ice cream and ensure in the blender!.

we made her all her fave foods and milkshakes in between meals and were able to get some weight back on her!.!.!.

also, if you are in a medicinal use state talk to the doc about pot brownies - seriously, that would get his appetite up and may reduce the anxiety as well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I helped care for my grandmother, and it's a battle if they seem prone to this (not a strong appetite and weight loss)!. Higher fat/protein foods!.!.!.Ensure or protein drinks!. I tried to make things that she really liked!.!.homemade Mac and cheese, etc!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
