what would you think if a girl smiled at you while you were looking at her or just randomly (and she was cute)!? would you be likely to approach her!?
what would you think if you were checking out a girl and she totally ignored you and pretended she didn't notice!?
im 17 and i suck when it comes to guys, i notice guys looking at me and stuff alot, but i pretend i don't notice them, because im just so shy and this is really affecting me and i need to change i haven't even made out with a guy before i feel as if im pushing guys away!. so i am hardly ever approached!. and when i AM approached its in the oddest ways you can imagine!. so my question is if i smile more will guys approach me more!?

A simple answer is yes!. A person smiling is more likely to get attention than one who is not!.
More in depth answer if you want a guy to talk with you smiling will help open a door and some guys might take the hint, however the more you can communicate with a guy using body language the more you will become someone he would be interested in getting to know versus some eye candy to look at!. As for how to do that is up to you, everyone has to find whats comfortable for them!. By all means you can do things like smile directly at a guy for starters then play with your hair, look shy but still smiling and inviting, if your are comfortable enough you may signal for him to come to you with the follow me finger or a blatant wave with your hand!. In any case being a guy myself I am much more likely to follow hints I can understand, so the more plain and obvious the hint the better I can meet your request!. Good luck out there!.
