Yeast is a fungus , and it really depends on where you get the infection !. Ring worm is a fungal infection that grows on the skin , you can have yeast growing in intestines , vagina , mouth , all are the result usually of antibiotics that when the normal flora or natural bacteria that lives in our body are killed off , and yeast are able to increase in number because they have no competition !.
Yeast infection can be very stubborn to treat and take as long as a month to treat on the skin !.
So to treat the infection , you have to give a medicine to kill off the yeast so that the normal flora or bacteria can grow in those places again !.

I got a yeast infection near my testicles (the Doctor confirmed it)!. I know it sounds weird but the Doctor told me to use the same medication (MONISTAT) that the ladies use for vaginal infections!. Later when I saw a dermatologist, he prescribed a shampoo that I leave around my testicles for 4 minutes just before showering!. Every day for one month and it was gone!.
