It is not gay unless you are gay!. I am straight and 40 something!. What you do with down south is your business!. I have been shaving for years(down south)!. I have only had one woman to make a negative comment about it!. She happened to be a lady that did not shave anything!. I personally prefer a lady that removes unnecessary hair!. The only thing that pubic hair seems to do is hold odors!. Who needs odors!? Use a mild soap such as dove liquid soap!. Do not use anything with alcohol!. After you finish wash of the clippings in the shower and apply cocoa butter!. As a plus, if you masturbate(like 90+ % of us do) it will feel better!. It is not gay to keep the garden trimmed & in shape (and I'm gay)!. Lots of guys "man-scape" and girls like it!. No one is down there for the hair anyway (well, maybe a small minority of people)!.
My recommendation is to start with trimming and finding a length you like!. Shaving may lead to razor bumps!. Also, never shave against the hair always shave with the way the hair grows!. Again, razor bumps are not fun and can get infected if you pick at them (and you might because they get itchy)!.
Do NOT listen to the physician of 26 years!. Idiot!. If we go by his logic we would never get a haircut or shave our beards!. We might not trim our finger & toe nails either!. Most Physicians that I have been associated with believe anyone (man or woman) who shaves their private parts without a medical reason has an unhealthy attitude and obsession toward their body in a sexual way!.
