Hi
Can anyone tell me if it's ok to do the sample the night before rather than in the morning before you drop it off at the lab!?
My boyfriend has to get up for work at 5am and I'm sure as hell not waking up *that* early to help him get sorted!

Yes thats fine, i work in a hospital lab testing vasectomies and infertilities!. Vasectomies do not require moving sperm as other people have mentioned, we only check for the presence of sperm, it doesnt matter if they are dead!. In fact when we test for them we spin them down and add dyes to them which would kill any living sperm anyway!
Infertilities are the one needing a sample within the hour of taking it, you are definately fine for the vasectomy,Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would follow the reccommendations as closely as possible to insure accuracy of the test!.

he should get it in as soon as he can!. have him buy a condom without the spermicide even non lubricated!. Roll it on and wack one off in the condom take it off tie it off at the end and take it in!. this way you do not have to help him with is sample!.

no, the sample has to be fairly fresh!. they rely on the sperm swimming to see if any remain!. its' the motion that makes them visible under a standard scope!. if i remember they told me it had to be less than 2hrs old!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
The night before is just fine!. All the lab is looking for is the absence of any sperm!. Does not have to be real fresh for that!.

no he needs to do it as close to the time as is possible because if you do it to early it will give a wrong result because his sperm will start to dieWww@Answer-Health@Com
