Lets face it, no one likes being called a boy, especially when a teen!. We are greatly looking forward to getting this hair, which is a huge part of becoming a "man"!. And men get to drive, have sex, and do lots of fun stuff!. When all your friends are changing, you want to be apart of that, and hair is a personal tracker of your physical change into becoming a man!. I loved getting my pubic hair (even though now I trim/shave), and getting armpit hair was a huge improvement for me, because others can actually notice it!. It is a great feeling when a girl says, Wow, you have really hairy legs, or When did you get so tall!?! Or an old family members like, your voice has gotten so deep! With three boys, two boys shaving since 15, I think it is a grown up thing!.
Unknowing to the boys who do not shave, according to my boys it is a huge pain and, one is even embarrassed by it for kids are cruel!.
I had to demand my middle boy shave for the first day of school this year! Mustache fine, that beard has to go for now!.!.!.!.!.he was very angry he messed up his side burns!. I feel when he is in 11th grade he can grow his beard out if he keeps it nice!. Usually I don't care how they want to look!. I just don't want them picked on!.
All in all I think kids think they are grown up, or most of them think they are grown up when they have to shave, until they have to shave!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have a teenage son!. He's not obsessed with it like some of his friends are!. His best friend has started getting hair all over the place and his voice is starting to change!. It's a right of passage into manhood!. I think the best answer for this is simply, it's cool!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Well I'm 15 and shaving is annoying and I don't want body hair!.
So not everyone is like that ;)

For the same reason that girls are obsessed with growing breasts and having periods!. Males and females worry about development of secondary sexual characteristics, males aren't the only ones obsessed with their bodies!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
