Can I start lifting weights, I'm 14?!

Question: Can I start lifting weights, I'm 14!?
Not everyday just 2 times a week on the wekeends (Saturady n Sunday) I need to get stronger for basketball!. I know I didn't make the freshman team but thats because I didn't go to Summer Camp!. Anyway, I need to get stronger!. But the problem is, I'm fat right now!. It's not all fat, I have muscle too!. The thing is, I just don't wanna wait till I get like a flat stomach cuz thats going to take months and maybe even 1 year since I have to do a VERY strict diet and exercise for a few months which is hard for me to do!. And if I lift weights now, I will look bigger and fatter and I don't want that!. So I guess I should just run on the treadmill everyday, and then on the weekends I will lift weights AND run on the treadmill!? What do you guys think!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Don't lift weights!! You are starting to grow!. Your growth pallettes in your bones are still forming!. Start playing bastketball!. If you want to get stronger, do pull ups and push ups also go jogging!. But don't lift any heavy weights until after you are 20 years old!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

in my opininon , begin with doing push ups !.!.!.lots of push ups lol , if you are 14 you are not supposed to lift a weight which you cannot do 15 times its move
dont push yourself to the limit of your capability (power ) exercice in a mode called : indurence , choose a medium weight and do more moves ( like 30 or so ) i dont think it's healthy if you begin with heavy weights

good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

to burn fat you have to take a small amount of weight and do it a lot of times ( example: 130 lb about 50 times)

to gain muscle you need a big amount of weight and do it a couple of times ( about 315 lb 8 - 10 times )

and after exercising always put protein into your body or else it'll be wastefulWww@Answer-Health@Com

Sure you can start lifting weights!. But it is better if you split the workout between two days, give your muscles some time to rest!. And don't do it right before a game otherwise you are going to be sore during the game, and im sure you don't want that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

lift weights all u want it's good to build muscle
and a lot of my friends started b4 then and they r ok and really strong
good luck have funWww@Answer-Health@Com

same as what zaheen says!. lotsss of running!.!.!.thats what i did for basketball conditioning!.!.!.it will build your whole body kinda in a thin, solid wayWww@Answer-Health@Com

Lifting weights burns calories and fat too!. Just lift for an hour, and then I've heard your body will continue to burn calories for about 6 hours or so!. After you do your lifting (for strength, just do about 6-10 reps of things, don't bother with that ridiculous 50 reps the one guy said) go running (running burns up more existing fat and gets you cut looking)!.

Or better yet, play basketball!. That will teach you how to play when you're tired and you have rubber arms and will give you some good endurance!. At first you start undershooting the basket after lifting, but after awhile you can adjust!. Your arms are tired at the end of games anyhow, so this will help train you for that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
