Answers:
I am mom of two boys, neither of which is circumcised!. I made that decision a long time ago, as a new nurse, after "assisting" with routine newborn circumcision!. There is no medical justification for doing it to a newborn, and you would not like knowing how it's done!. Worse yet, the procedure may be done by your own OB doctor, not even a urologist!. It depends on the hospital and doctor!. Sometimes, it's done by surgical residents, or even pediatric residents as well!. If you have religious reasons, then consider having it done when the boy is a little older, and you can have it done by a urologist using a local anesthetic!. It will not be done that way for a newborn procedure!. As far as the looks business goes, I think that's really a poor excuse!. Most of the world is not circumcised, and it's getting to be less common in the US!. My son is now 12, and it's never even been an issue, at school, in Scouts, anywhere!. He asked about it exactly once, when he was around 9 I think- and we explained very matter of factly!. If it becomes necessary when they are older, then it's necessary!. Until then, I think they came with a foreskin for a reason, and that's enough to leave it there!. I did ask my husband for his opinion, as he was routinely circumcised at birth!. He said that although he wasn't really in a position to say much one way or the other, as he had known life no other way to be able to compare!. However, given the information and knowledge he has now, he had no problem with my wish not to have the boys circumcised!. If your expected baby were a girl, you would not even think about removing her clitoral hood or clitoris, as that would strike you as barbaric and be genital mutilation!. So is removing a foreskin from an infant boy, when there is no medical or religious obligation to do so!. I find it hard to believe God will keep a fellow out of heaven for having a foreskin, or for having it removed if needed- any more than I think He'll ask where your tonsils or appendix is!. The final decision is yours, just keep in mind your son is the one who will have to live with (or without) it!. And if you really must have it done, have it done after he's six weeks old, by a urologist!. That's the kindest way to go!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you type up "circumcision" here you'll find thousands of little boys between 10 to 18 complaining and confused on how to deal with their inability to pull back their foreskin, or their painful sexual experiences, or their infections that they acquired because they don't clean it well!. I did it at 23 years of age and I think is worth it!. It also cut his chances of contracting HIV in heterosexual sex!. that's why in Africa they are doing circumcision as a way of reducing the number of new HIV infections and other STD's!. Wish you luck with your decision!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have 2 little boys and beither of them are!. If they are taught to clean it riht they will not have any diffrent problems then circumsized men!. Plus they have more sensitivity when they get older they may appricaite that, lol!. Anyways, guys are like women, we have big boobs we want little ones, we have little ones we want big ones!. Guys are circumsized wish they weren't and vise versa!. Don't second guess your self if that is what you guys want to do then do it don't stress about it!. If he really hates it then when he gets older he can get it done, lol!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I wish my parents hadn't chosen it for me, when I found out about it I read everything I could, I know tons of information about and have read both pro and anti circumcision websites, I really wanted to believe it was good, but the truth just isn't there, you see and hear all these claims but if you ask for the actual study nobody has them or they are so old and used invalid techniques and would not even be considered for publishing, I wanted to believe it was good but if you look at both sides, circumcising without an immediate medical need makes no sense at all!.

I did foreskin restoration restoring what was left (they do leave some foreskin) but it's not all restorable, but what I was able to get back was great!. but this came at a price, I can no longer see circumcision as cosmetic or as if it does not really matter, things that I thought were normal I only realized were problems after I restored and no longer had them, sexual enjoyment is way up!. I can't imagine how much better the real thing is!.

people have said in relation to sexual pleasure
intact=10
cut=3
restored=7

and from my experience I agree with the cut/restored numbers

let your son have an entire penis, he only has one life to live, only one chance to feel the full sexual pleasure, if you circumcise him he will never be able to experience it

circumcision is a case in which the more you know about the effects of it the more you are against circumcision

Honestly I think you should be consulting a doctor and get the facts from both sides of the arguement!. Overall I think that circumcision is not necessary but carries some health benefits as well as risks!. While any decent doctor can do a circumcision 99% of the time, that one percent margin of error could mean your son has complications with his penis!.

Personally I respect your man's decision to not have your son cut!. It is something you should thoroughly research!. I am actually doing a paper on circumcision and this article from wikipedia

http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Circumcisio!.!.!.

has some follow up links you should look into!. Maybe also look into what the American Urological Association says as well!. I will say that to me in light of piercings, tatoos and other forms of body modification I don't think circumcisions are mutalations at all!. I'm cut and I don't think of myself as mutilated!. However, perhaps it is more ethical to wait until your son is older so he can decide for himself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no

rusty is ignorant the foreskin can never be replaced

rusty I know what foreskin restoration is but it is just stretching the shaft skin that is left, it is not the same as a real foreskin the nerve endings are GONE and so is the ridged band!.

it doesn't work the same as a real foreskin, yes you get glans coverage again but there is more to it than that, also after years of the exposed glans it will be permanently desensitised

from your own link:
"Foreskin restoration only creates the appearance of a natural foreskin; certain parts of the natural foreskin cannot be reformed!. In particular, the frenar band, a tissue structure extending around the penis at the frenulum which helps to contract the tip of the foreskin so that it remains positioned over the glans, cannot be recreated!."

oh and it takes years and can damage the penis if too much tension is applied, how is that easier than a quick operation with anesthetic!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was circumcised at 18 and would do it again in a heartbeat! Don't believe the antis as they love to spread lies to scare people! There is NO LOSS OF SENSITIVITY, that is a favorite lie they have!. Being circumcised is much cleaner, proven healthier for both partners, looks better and feels much better for everyone involved!. I had no hesitation when my boys (1&4) were born to have them circumcised, as I know there is no downside, only a lifetime of benefits for them and their future mates!.

BTW- Most of the people that answered against circumcison are not even American! Example is Harriet lives in Australia!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just a quick FYI, there have been several cases of doctor's mutilating the penis so badly that they decide to remove the whole organ and tell the parents to raise the boy as a girl!. And there have even been cases where babies have DIED while being circumcised!. Do a search and you'll see for yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

in my opinion, circumcision is essentially genital mutilation because if it weren't supposed to be there, he wouldn't have been born with a foreskin!. and besides, with every girl i've ever talked to, the popular opinion seems to be that uncircomcised males' penises feel better!. also, would you want to undergo female circumcision as a little girl!? i didn't think so!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

NO i think its cruel even if they wont remember although its cleaner it cuts some really sensitive nerves and although he may not ever notice, he will never have as much pleasure as an uncut male and if the surgery were to go bad he will face some real tough problems during his teen years

Additional Details: lol why did i get thumbs downed XD but anyways guy below me in case you dont already know this you have got phimosis <-!? that means your foreskin is too tight it can usually be fixed stretching it little by little over timeWww@Answer-Health@Com

i circumsized to make it easier for my boys when they grow up, dad isn't and he resents his mom for not doing it when he was a baby!. It's just very unattractive, and according to him, it's uncomfortable!. There is no right or wrong on this one!. I am glad i did it for my boys!.Either way your decision is what counts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i am cut, i wish i would have been consulted on this, it will be forever unknown to me what sensations i was robbed of!.!.!.!. yes robbed!. my parents had it done because it was "the thing to do"!.

My boyfriend isn't and has never had a problem!. The foreskin doesn't really cause as many problems as people like to pretend, they can be easily treated anyway!. The foreskin makes sex better!.

HarrietWww@Answer-Health@Com

No!. I dont see the point in circumcision!. The penis is made and designed to be with the foreskin, it should stay that way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think i will because it clean more safe foe the baby!.!.!. if the baby is not clean the right way the skin will rip!.!.also they will be in high risk of infection!.!.

Www@Answer-Health@Com

Circumcised and glad that I am!. the women I have known also prefer circumcised!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think circumcision is good because it is simply cleaner!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i wouldn't circumcise my son, noWww@Answer-Health@Com

No, it should be his choice!. He should get a choice about what is best for his body and his life, and circumcising doesn't give him that!.

The "cleaner" idea some have mentioned spawns mainly from improper care of the penis!.!.!. by parents, adults, and teens!. Parents think they must pull back the skin to clean it as infants, however, the foreskin is "glued" to the glans and forced separation will cause tears, redness, and infection!. Parents (and adults/teens) then overuse soap because they think the area is so dirty it needs more cleaning, which not only creates problems, but also amplifies any current issues!. Soap removes the bad AND good bacteria, which is why there are special cleaners to get rid of infections (monistat, etc)!. If someone knows about these misconceptions they will avoid most of the issues (which they themselves are creating,!.!.!.the foreskin is trying to do its job)!.

Medically, there is nothing but controversial studies and misconceptions like the "cleanliness" reason!. I will not take a permanent gamble for my son that the PRO studies are right AND that he would actually prefer to have them over being intact!. He will have 15-20 years or MORE before he even starts using his penis!.!.!. during which the studies may clear up!.

Whitesox, you should check out WHY those things are more common!.!.!. and you will find out it is because people are misinformed about how to take care of the penis before it becomes retractable!. Also, even if you ignore improper care, the chance for infection, is STILL below that of girls!.

Oh and for penile cancer, although this is less likely, it is extremely rare and is really only sticks around as a "benefit" because it is scary sounding!. If you look up actual statistics, cancer of the eye, which you have probably never heard of, is waaay more common!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am not in favour of circumcision!. I believe it to be a completely unnecessary procedure unless there is an immediate medical reason such as Phimosis (tight foreskin)!.

The anatomical equivalent of the male foreskin (prepuce) in females is the clitoral hood (also called prepuce) which is the fold of skin that protects the clitoral glans!. Some forms of female circumcision
