Are males more sexual than females?!

Question: Are males more sexual than females!?
Would males in general be alot more promiscuous and sexual than females because of the ammount of testosterone (not that all males are this way) and are females alot more reluctant than males!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
There is no doubt that we males are more sexual!. Psychologically, men are more developed (more fantasies, fetishes, ideas about sex)!. Physiologically, men are more sexual also!. Men are physically aroused easier, quicker and more often!. There is a biological reason and need for a man to orgasm and ejaculate (to procreate)!. Women do not need to orgasm for procreation!. Also, males are required to ejaculate!. In fact, if they don't ejaculate manually (through masturbation or sex) they will do so involuntarily while they sleep (nocturnal emission)!. As you pointed out, males have a lot more testosterone which is the hormone responsible for the sexual drive in all humans!.

Having said that, females can be just as promiscuous as males!. There definitely is a "reluctance" but much of that is social learning!. Girls and young women are taught (parents, schools, media, peer pressure) that having a lot of sex is dirty and not for proper, highly regarded ladies!. Men are taught that it's o!.k!. (even encouraged) to have sex with many partners and "spread the seed!." All of this is changing somewhat with the so-called "sexual revolution!." But still the heavy bonds of anthropology are at work here: Remember that in cave people times cave women HAD to find one mate that was acceptable to protecting the family so she was very selective with whom she would have sexual intercourse with!.

So, yeah, males are more sexual but all that can change!.

It's popular these days to think that men are more promiscuous and interested in sex, because that's part of our script for males today!. They're supposed to be always willing and able to have sex, and always able to get a hard erection!. This is just a sex role assigned by society, and is not based on observed behavior!. The sex role assigned to women (a hold over from Victorian times) is to be naive about sexual matters, and to be passive and compliant sex partners!.

About two centuries ago, it was assumed that women were naturally more promiscuous because they were mentally inferior to males, and less able to control themselves!. Those were the sex roles assigned at that time!.

Gorillas are very monogamous, and the testicles of the males are fairly small in relation to body size!. Chimpanzees females are very promiscuous, and the testicles of the males are large, so they can produce a lot of semen to compete with what another male may have contributed!. The testicles of humans are midway between those of gorillas and chimpanzees in relation to our size, suggesting our females are more promiscuous than gorillas, but not as much as chimpanzees!. Or at least that they have been during our evolution!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think each gender has its share of people who are over-sexed, i!.e!. who want to do it in whatever form they can get it, more than the average person!. I don't think any one gender can claim to be more promiscuous or sexual than the other, although there are certainly who would like to claim bragging rights!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
