You should go out! My mother had multiple sclerosis and eventually ended up on a wheelchair but she was so much fun and people just flocked to her to be her friend!.

Why!? because she showed she could be a friend!. She smiled, engaged people in conversation and just didn't let her disability get her down!. Even when my dad divorced her, she eventually started dating!. By that time she clearly looked disabled and used a cane to walk!. She actually had a few boyfriends before she married my step dad!.

My advice is !.!.!.
Get out there and socialize!.
Don't try too hard (just be yourself but still make an effort)
Don't mind the staring, people are just curious and just as uncomfortable as you might be (think you might break or something)
If people try to help (hold doors, etc!.), let them and say "thanks"!. Most people want to help and that may be their way to strike up a conversation!.
Don't go overboard on anything- too loud, too much cologne, too much drinking!. Let them get to know the real you!.
If you are able, try to join the fun!. Maybe you could play darts!.
Lastly know that you are someones dream date!. May not be tonight but someone is looking for you!.

Maybe because my mom had a disability but I have never thought any differently about people with disabilities!. I have had crushes on several people (paralyzed, Cerebral Palsy, deaf)!. I'm sure there are many peoplele out there (like me) looking for a good friend or a date!.

Hope that helps and good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm underage so I can't go "into" pubs, I think!. But I say, go for it!

I understand what you mean about feeling uncomfortable, due to your disability, but don't let that hinder your social life!. Just be yourself, and try to open up to people!.

For starters, you could go to people and introduce yourself!. If they seem interesting, try to find out some of their hobbies!. If you guys share the same hobbies, that's a jackpot for conversation!.

Being social is all up to you!. But if you're the type who would rather sit down and read a book, than jump into a conversation with a bunch of people!.!. you'll feel a bit anxious, every time you meet new people, because that's just who you are!

Hmm!. Confidence!.!. you're just as unique as everyone else!. And I have a feeling, that since you're very interested in trying to meet new people, and quite honest (When you admitted your anxiety), that people will be drawn to you!.

Hope that helped!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hey K!.P!.!.!.!.the only solution I can tell you is to go out there!.!.!.if you gotta explain it to people!.!.then go right ahead

Everybody else has things that hold them back!.!.!.some worse, some not so bad!.!.!.

I came down with Bell's Palsy on the left side of my face about 6 months ago, and I still can't really smile on that side!.!.!.the side was completely paralyzed and its still pretty bad

I still go out, and say F it!.!.!.!.who cares!.!.

I had a cute secretary hit on me when I was completely paralyzed on that side, and we even dated and everything!.!.!.!.

Real people will see through it, and admire your strength!.!.!.!.and with some patience, you'll even start to attract some good looking chicks!

Good luck, my friend, and GO OUT THEREWww@Answer-Health@Com
