I had open heart surgery and was put on 10 mg!. of Altace, but my pressure would at times go so low that I felt like I was going to faint!.
My pressure went down to 100 over 80 and I just stopped taking the medicine!. I just started with a new doctor and he wants me to put me on 5 mg of listoprin!. I'm like you, I don't want to take meds for the rest of my life, but just the other day, I saw kids throwing trash out of the car window onto the street and I got pissed off and checked and my pressure was way up to 178 over 94!. I'm gonna get the Rx for the Listoprin and hope it doesn't make me feel faint!. I guess we just have to learn how to control our temper and change our lifestyle!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Like most things!.!.!.!.depends!. If your blood pressure is due to stresses in your life, once the stress gets resolved, your blood pressure may go back down!. There are life style changes you can make as well!. Do you consume a ton of caffeine!? cut back!. Do you smoke!? High blood pressure and smoking go hand in hand!. Is there a history of hypertension in your family!? My family has a lot of hypertension in it, AND I smoke!. So I've been on pills for a long time!. I might be able to go off the pills if I gave up smoking, but when I weigh the issue, I'd rather smoke!. GL!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no thats not true at all ,exercise and certain food can lower bp losing a few pounds can help !. your dr wants you to give it a couple of months to try to correct the problem bp medicine can only help you high bp is called the silent killer for a reason, stay on the med cause it couldnt hurt you but it can keep you from having a stroke or heart attack!.be happy that your dr found it out and was able to give you med otherwise you might not be with us long, dont mind what anyone else says do whats right for you and your health, its a really good drug Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ask the doctor about it, seriously!.

Though I'm personally inclined to look at the 3month treatment as the trained medic saying that it's probably just temporary (as stress, the cause of the high blood pressure, is temporary) rather than what the untrained individuals are saying!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

We want you to stay on the medication unless another factor has changed!.
For example if you have lost weight or increase your exercise pattern, than that would be a good reason to see if pressure is sustainable without medication!.
But great job on reducing your blood pressure!!

Yes, blood pressure can go back to normal!. Basically, you must avoid foods that raise your blood pressure (salty foods) and eat foods that lower your blood pressure (those high in potassium)!. You should also walk at least 1/2 hour a day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My brother had high bp for a while because of stress and it went away when he chilled out!. My friend had high bp and got off her meds when she lost about 20 lbs!. No, it doesn't have to be forever!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

In some cases, blood pressure can be controlled with salt reduction, healthy diet and exercise!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
