During school hours or out of school, try to be more active!. This will trigger tiredness!. Eat low GI foods such as Pasta, rice, wheat etc, which will take up a lot of oxygen directly to your brain which will also make you very tired!. You could make up a schedule if your struggling to sleep!. One thing is DO NOT TAKE sleeping pills!. It is deadly and addictive!. My overall suggestion is to be more active everyday!. You don't need more than 9 hours of sleep per day!. An adolescent approximately needs 6-8 hours of sleep daily!. Take my advice and be as active as possible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Make them do homework =P
You could try having them read before they go to bed!. Warm milk always helped me sleep even when I was that age too!. There are some herbal supplements you can try, you can ask about them at health food stores!. And sometimes vitamin deficiencies make it hard to sleep so try having them take vitamins!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I make sure my kids wind down an hour before bedtime,

they have a bath or shower and put there comfys on and ususally just read or watch tv in there room before naturally drifing off to sleep!.

They do get a lot of exercise tho - so they ususally are ready for bed when its time!.

Try reading them a book, that will make them sleepy, but the trick is to do in THEIR BED!. Not on the couch, or the floor!. Get them in the p!.j!.s' keep one light on just enough so you can see what you're reading, tuck them in and start!. With the room being dark, they will get tired!. Also try to talk in a calm, soothing voice!. Always worked for me!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have them do rigorous exercise during the day possibly after school!. Exerting energy during the day should allow their bodies to be more tired and want rest!. Allow limited amounts of sugar in drinks or food towards dinner hour!. Then they can try reading a book before bedtime!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you better learn to sleep because once you forget how, you cant learn to again!. not really true but once you get in the habit of staying up it will become a routine!. i sleep 4 hours a day on average!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
