Question: Why did this happen at school today!?
Today in English we were reading a short story (one of the best I've ever read, since I haven't read that many) and it was about a boy who was born and he was very different from other boys!. His brother was so embarrassed of him!. So he taught him how to walk (he still couldnt walk at the age of 5)!. Then after he taught him how to walk, they started to train!. They were running and stuff!. But his older brother (also the narrator) knew they didn't have much time before school started!. One day when they were training just days before school, a storm came!. They were going home!. The little brother was scared of the storm so he was behind his big brother!. But the big brother was so mad, he started running as fast as he could and left his brother behind!. And the little brother said "Brother! Brother! Don't leave me!" and he got way far behind!. But then the big brother came back for him but he was dead!. His mouth was bleeding!. I think his heart exploded because he had heart problems!. Now at the end of the story, everyone in class was like laughing and saying "Oh wow thats not a great ending" And the whole class was like that!. And I was just there sitting, and was about to cry!. Why was I like that!? Oh and the name of the story is "The Scarlet Ibis!."

I'm with you, nothing is funny about that story I actually had to try not to tear from reading it!. I feel the small brother died of a broken heart!. How sad how people can cover their feelings!. to be perfectly honest if i were there i probably would have laughed to but for me its like life or cry and i always laugh!. with the kids in your class they're probably just trying to act cool!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
yea we read it about 5 yrs ago!.!.!.all the girls and a few guys (including me) were sad like u too!.!. its just depends on the type of person!. my dad gets teary also so im thinkiing its genetics!. for the other ppl there just imature!.!.!.and hard to get to!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
The rest of the class can hide emotion, death, if it doesn't affect anyone in their family, has no effect on them!.

Ugh, I know exactly what you mean!. I'm in high school and I hate it when people act like that, they think it's cool to laugh at stuff like that!. They don't take the time to actually listen to or read the story, they're afraid to have an opinion that might make them seem emotional (guys mostly) I just ask them "How is that funny!?" Try and make them see what morons they are!. I'm probably above average for emotions for a guy so I know just what you mean!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
honestly (and this might sound corney, but i wouldnt say it if i didnt think it was true) but i think that everyone else felt the exact same way that you did but they didnt want people to see that side of them because they were too embarrassed so they just made fun of it!. dont think that you have any kinda issues because of it though, cause if you think about it, theyre the ones that are too self conscious to show their real feelings!.

Hey buddy don't let these bastards take away your self esteem!. What they did was rude and perhaps was not their fault, as I read your story when you describe the heart exploding, that was a little weird!. You could have solved it by being more tacful like: "When the brother came back for him, his brother had sliped and fall on the ground fataly hurting his head" or "Found his little brother lying on the road and when taken to the hospital he was pronounced dead, due to a genetic heart problem!. In any case, is your story and you can end it in any way you like!. Good job! Www@Answer-Health@Com
You were like that because you have a heart!. And from what I can tell, a very good one!. I know it is hard to deal with getting emotional over a story, especially in school when everyone is trying their hardest to be "cool", but your sympathy for the boy in this story shows how good a person you are!.
