Use a the best quality razor you can afford and be prepared to change the blades when they start to blunt - I like the Mach 3, but the Sensor Excel was a great razor too!.

Always shave after having a thorough wash first and use good quality shaving cream/foam - use a brush to apply as this lifts the bristles away from the skin and helps to soften them!.

Always follow the line of growth of the stubble, never shave against it and don't press on the skin too hard - this will irritate!. Be prepared to go over areas a couple of times rather than trying to get as much off as possible in one stroke!.

Wash your face with clean warm water and pat the skin dry with a flannel, don't rub it too hard!. Use a good after shave balm (Boots do a great one as part of their Botanics range, but the best I've tried is Clinique Post Shave Healer) and moisturiser!. Don't apply any aftershave or cologne for at least ten minutes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

preventing the rash is the bigger thing, then you'll have less to worry about in this department
make sure you use shaving cream, use a sharp blade and moisturize after wards, more than once if you feel necessary!.
as time goes by, you'll find this less of a problem
if you have been shaving for quite a while then you best go to the pharmacy about creams/ointments for the rash if its that bad!. otherwise id just keep up the moisturizer or try aloe vera, its really good and cooling -great for sunburn too :-)
good luck xWww@Answer-Health@Com

Hi Danny

Avoid shaving against the growth of the hair, that should make it easier!.
Using shaving foam so that you don't pull the hair as you shave!.
Avoid after shave as they will make your face sting!.
Wash off with cool water!.
Use a sharp razor blade so that it shaves and doesn't drag the hair!.

b4 you start to shave, put a hot ( as hot as you can stand ) cloth on your face, this will soften your hairs and opens the pores once you have finished shaving, use cold water to close your pores and apply witch hazel gel, this should stop the problem!?

Don't drag the razor in long strides!. Short move work best also keep putting the razor in water!. Make sure the water you use is always hot and you let the shave creme soften the hairs!.
