By 6th or 7th grade almost all guys are taking care of themselves!. But they're embarrassed about it, especially if they are younger!. And young guys no more want to talk to the girls they like about masturbating than girls want to talk to the guys they like about the crap they took that morning!. To young guys it still seems weird and they have a little bit of shame about it!. It's nearly universal by age 14, though of course some boys start later!. He's keeping it a secret because he feels a little embarrassed and maybe a little guilty!. He probably thinks if he was open about it, some people might tease him, or call him a perv or queer or even worse!. When it comes to masturbating, there are 2 types of men, the ones that admit they do it, and the ones that lie!. Every guy does it!. Even 14 yr olds!. Maybe he is embarrassed to tell you, he doesn't want you to think less of him or that he needs to because he can't get a girlfriend!.
