Will it always hurt? ?!

Question: Will it always hurt!? !?
Ok, at the end of the year last year I had surgery on my knee for a meniscus repair!. So its been about 8 months now, but everyday off and on it gets sore!. I'm very athletic too!. I run almost everyday!. Ive been through Physical Therapy and I still strengthen it with a personal trainer to this point!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
personal trainer or an athletic trainer!? there's a difference!. Personal trainers don't know how to properly strength and condition a person that just had surgery or any injury (for the most part they can cause further harm)!. Athletic Trainers actually work on people who have injuries and make them either the same physical fitness before the injury or better!. Since you've had a meniscus issue so early, I'd suggest you get running shoes that give more of a cushioning whenever you take a step or get Dr Scholl's!. Hopefully the PT made sure that your running is correct and not causing a harsher impact on your knees!. Endurance lifting on your legs will help a lot!. Quadriceps, hamstrings, calfs, inside and outside thigh muscles should be worked on as well as stretched (the back muscles especially) before running!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First, it's difficult to make a judgement without knowing more about your condition and medical history!.

Ironically, there was a recent study about how those undergoing arthroscopic debridement wasn't turning into the long term outcomes they were hoping for!. They are finding that surgery is no more effective than physical therapy!. Granted, i think you have to look at every case individually and consider size of the tear and any structural anamolies!. There are certainly cases where it just needs to be done!.

However, we must remember that when we perform an arthroscopic debridement of the knee, we are changing the mechanics of the knee!. It's quite possible that you might have continued pain!. At this time, we do not know enough to be able to predict who will have continued pain and who will become pain-free!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you feel pain!.
Stay off it as much as you can!.
You don't need to leave your room to do cardio!.
Try elastic band training!. It increases your strength, cardio and endurance!. You have to do a lot of reps but it will keep you tone!. Look into stretching as well!. Stretching can be dangerous and holds many benefits!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It really shouldn't be still hurting unless you are overdoing it!. I strongly suggest another ultrasound to check the surgery has been effective,Www@Answer-Health@Com
