Yes, most any drug can cause cardiac changes!. Opiates may cause the heart rate to speed up and then get slower depending on the dosage that has been taken!. These drugs effect the CNS which control the breathing and heart rate!. The CNS can be stimulated or depressed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
