The best hospital in the world for hernia surgery is Schuldice, it is located in Ontario Canada!. They have a 99!.2% success rate and do not use what is called "a mesh"!. They use stainless steel sutchere for the internal stiches!. People go there from all over the world!. I had one done last year and all is perfect now!. They give you a partial anesthetic and four hours later you are up walking around!. My local doctor said typical hernia surgery has a 10% failure rate even when done lapriscopically!. Look it up on the net "Schuldice hospital"!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

At your age you should be asking your parents or guardian!. I believe that the best people who can help you with your questions are your parents, guardians or someone you trust, your doctors or nurses if you trust them also!.

Having said that here is what I would tell anyone going in for that kind of surgery!. If your surgery is necessary then go for it!.

1!. Never go in for elective surgery or for surgery that is not necessary!.

2!. Even if you have a hernia, some are treatable without surgery!. Ask your doctor is surgery is absolutely necessary!. If it is necessary than have the surgery!.

3!. Ask what preparations are necessary and follow those preparations to the t!. (For example, you might need tests before the surgery, not eating and not drinkingetc!. Follow those instructions)!.

4!. Ask your parents or guardians any questions that you have!. You are entitled to answers and they will be more than glad to answer your questions!.

5!. If at all possible, have someone go with you to the hospital!.

6!. Make sure you follow all after-instructions!. For example, if the doctor says after the surgery you are not allowed to lift anything for a year!. Then make sure you follow those instructions and do not lift anything for a year (That is just an example)!.

7!. Pray!. I say pray because I believe in the power of prayer and things change and things are made better with prayer!. So youhave nothing to lose by praying!. Pray even if you are an atheist!. Just because you don't believe in God, that doesn't mean that God will not hear your prayers!.

8!. When you are in the hospital--both before and after the operation, ask the nurses and doctors to summon the Chaplain for you!. This person is there to help you, anytime you are in the hospital!. They will help you by talking with you, by listening to you and even by offering information (if they have it) or offering suggestions (if they have any)!. The Chaplain can be most helpful to you, if you just ask for them!. Chaplain services are totally free, so you do not have to worry about being billed!. And, there are some chaplains who are Jewish (Rabbis, and Rabbis-in training), and some who are Catholic and other religions)!. So you can talk with a Priest, a Minister or Rabbi!. Do not underestimate the helpfulness of a Chaplain, do call on them when you are in the hospital!. So, there are no financial, religious or organizational obligations when asking to speak to a Chaplain!. By religious , I mean this, if you are Jewish, you can speak to a Rabbi or a Priest!. It doesn't matter if you are Catholic, you can speak with a Rabbi!. So you can speak with whichever denomination that you want to speak with, to whichever one you will feel most comfortable with!.

Most people think that Chaplains are the for dying but on the contrary, Chaplains are for the living more!. Chaplains help victims at hospitals and they help family members at hospitals and they help pre-surgery patients and they help patients after surgery!. So do contact one if you still have questions or even if you have no questions but want to talk with someone!.

Hope that all helps you with your problem!. Good luck and I will pray for you!.

Its easy for people to tell you just don't be scared!. This does not help you much!. I will try to be more specific!.

You are not going to die!. There are teams of really really smart people there that are totally into doing what is best for you!.

You are going to be fixed just as good as new!. There is a huge success rate for this procedure and it is not some little known or untested procedure!. Thousands of these procedures are done all over the country and I am sure your doctor has done hunderds or thousands himself!. If he is new and has not, then there will be another doctor right next to him who has!.

It is going to hurt when you wake up BUT!.!.!.there are lots of different medicines to take it away!. Just tell your nurse and if it still hurts, tell her or him again!. The way they treat pain today is totally different than before!. If you are in pain they will fix it!. That is the new rule!. Tell them how much it hurts on a number scale if 0 was no pain and 10 was the worst pain you ever felt!.

You will most likely have a Foley Catherter when you wake up!. This is a thin rubber hose that goes up your penis and into your bladder!. They will probabally put it in after you are asleep!. When they take it out it does not hurt eventhought you think it will!. If you are awake when they put it in you need to bear down like you are trying to pee really hard!. If you tense up like you are trying to hold it in then it will hurt!. Breathe deep and tell the nurse when you are ready!.

I went through hernia surgery about 4 years ago!. I was about 25!. I was scared because it was my first surgery!. It won't be too bad!. The first week after the surgery you might be in some pain, but you most likely will have medicine for the pain!. I feel better now that I had the surgery!. Good Luck! Www@Answer-Health@Com

I understand the new surgery is less invasive, I had mine years ago when they really cut and destroyed nerve endings and left quite a scar!. Modern surgery much improved!. Naturally you are going to worry before the operation!. Your next best time is when you wake up and realize you lived through it!. You will be over it in no time!. Good LuckWww@Answer-Health@Com

the worst part is what you are going through now!.!.!.!.just waiting and wondering what its gonna be like!.

You'll prlly be very nervous the whole time but just really try not to worry because it will be over before you know it!.!.!.!.
