ORAL FIXATION!!! when will it end?!

Question: ORAL FIXATION!!! when will it end!?
I've sucked my thumb since in the womb(embarrassingly still do even at this age(18)), i chew on plastics of all varieties, aluminum cans, chopsticks, toothpicks, paper, my hands, and really anything i can!. I click my teeth when i don't have something to chew on, but never grind!.
I've read Freud's studies and theories on oral fixation but i don't know anyway to stop it!. Can anyone help me!?!?!? My mother used to put nail polish remover on my thumb so i wouldn't suck on it but that never worked, i ignored th taste!. Any other solution will be highly welcomed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You might try seeing a psychologist!. Some of Freud's stuff is a little outdated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm 17 and ive always chewed on something when i'm concentrating or when there's something in my mouth!. Like the end of a pen!. I never chew or suck on my fingers but still, I relate!.

Chew gum; it works for me!.
When I don't have gum, I catch myself chewing on the cap of my pen or on a paper clip haha!.

But seriously, try gum, it helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is a great product called stopbite for nails and cuticules
http://www!.gro-nails!.com/shopping/305!.ht!.!.!.

I used it for a few months when I was younger to stop eating the skin around my nails and to stop bitting my nails as well!. That product is disgusting, you will have it in your mouth a few times for a second and eventually drop all hurges to stick your fingers in your mouth!.

Now for objects and teeth clintching well simple enough you might have a stress issue or anxiety!. Seeing a doc about those two might help out a bit!. On the other hand!. You can first try carrying gum on you all the time!. chew it as much as possible!. No sugar added gu might be best miind you but it might help with the "eating items" issue!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
