Yes!. I do NOT suggest weight training until you're about 15 or 16!. You want to be able to reach your maximum height! Instead of weight training, try pushups and situps, running, and leg and thigh exercises!. You will become stronger and you WILL get better results if you do age appropriate workouts!. Especially if you're only 12!. Hope I helped!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes it can, and you won't get out of it what you want!.

All weight training causes some damage to the joints - which happens to be where most bone growth occurs!. It is recommended that boys don't start weight training until they are passed their main growth spurt (usually around 16) before getting heavily into it!. Body weight exercises (push-up, etc!.) are ok!.

Muscle growth requires the presence of testosterone!. Prior to puberty you haven't got much of it - this is why most female bodybuilders have to take hormones!. So you get to stunt your growth doing an exercise that won't give you nearly the benefits that would have occurred if you waited!. Just do calisthenics for now is my recommendation!.

Note: My information may be dated - there is a chance that there have been new findings since I last took health class - so ask your health teacher or a coach to confirm this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

NO it won't stunt your growth BUT it could seriously damage your joints and your back, i recommend learning to control your body weight first as this is much safer and will reap far more rewards (press-ups, pull-ups, planks, pelvic raises, swiss ball exercises) develop your core first, that way you will have a stronger foundation to do more serious weight training when you are older and your body has filled out naturally!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It actually does stunt your growth if you do it at such an early age!. That's why you see some guys with big *** muscular arms sticking out, and then they are only 5'3!. It is suggested that you don't start weight training until you're in high school, depending on the male it would be 15-17 years old!. Look it up on google or something, there are articles on it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

PLEASE LISTEN TO ME!!!!! that is all BS it will NOT stunt your growth OR hurt your muscles, ECT!.!.!.!.!. Keep at it it's good for you! Just make sure you have proper form and you'll be FINE! anyone who says it's bad at your age is full of ****! It's an old wise tale that is NOT trueWww@Answer-Health@Com

I wouldn't recommend too much weight training at your age!. Your body is not yet fully formed and the stresses and strains of intensive repetitive exercises could store up problems for later in life!. Just concentrate on general fitness for the time being!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think it can stunt your growth!. Your just getting in shape, and it is possible that you don't grow at all in 3 weeks!.
I work out, and I am 13 years old!. I just don't do weights!.
I dont have a lot of upper muscle =]

Hope I helped!Www@Answer-Health@Com

weight training at 12/13 no good ur still developing!.!.!.!.and will cause too much stress on ur body 4 sum 1 of ur age!.!.!.!.!.if u stress ur body when it's not ready course ur gonna have problems!.!.when i was growing i did;'nt notice my height changing so i don't see how u notice ur height changingWww@Answer-Health@Com

Not really!. I began lifting three times a week when I was twelve, and it only really toned my muscles!. Then when I started growing more, lifting really helped my muscles grow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you would be better of swimming and doing pushups, things like that, but no weights yet, wait a few years!. and it can be harmfull to development!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Things that put`stress on your back will stunt growth!. don't do too much free weight as it will put pressure on you to maintain it, use machines for now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no but it could damage your muscles though as they have not yet formed properly!.

conult an expert if you are going to do it anywayWww@Answer-Health@Com
