Why does my back hurt when i play piano?!

Question: Why does my back hurt when i play piano!?
Answers:
Do you play for long periods of time or hunch forward or slouch!? Some people who work at desks have this same problem when sitting too long!. And if you play on a piano bench, the backless seat may be to blame as you don't have that added support!.
Try sitting up a little straighter when you play and loosening your back when you're finished!. You could do this by standing up, keeping your hips straight and twisting your upper body back and fourth!. This helps to keep your spine limber!. You could also lay on your back on the floor, and curl your legs up above you (like you're sitting cross-legged) and rock your legs back and fourth!. This helps loosen up your lower back and gives your tail bone a little massage!.
