Can you advise [10pts]?!

Question: Can you advise [10pts]!?
Hi,

I've started bodybuilding, however, I am not new to it!. I am an ectomorph and gain better performing abbreviated training!. However, I have modifed it slightly!. My new way is by performing ONE major exercise a day bar 2 days a week!. For instance:

(3 sets x 6 reps for all)

Mon: Parallel Dips, Tricep exstensions
Tue: Deadlift
Wed: Military Press, Bar-bell curls
Thurs: Squat
Fri: Rest
Sat: Rest
Sun: start cycle again

The reason for performing only one exercise a day is because I CANNOT focus on doing more than ONE in one session!. I train for maybe 20 minutes and then I'm out of the gym!.

I have 180g of Protein a day and loads of carbs and such forth!.

I have put on 7lbs in two weeks, but I believe this is because I am getting back into the training again!.

Are there any downfalls with this routine!? Can someone advise on where I might hit a potential problem with this routine!?

Any advice (apart from trollish crap) appreciated

ThanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

Like I said in the other question you posted, the routine looks absolutely fine!.

As long as you are progressing every session you are on your way to a good physique!. By progression I mean like adding anything as small as 0!.5lbs or a rep!.

You have some very good core exercises there so I'm sure you'll do well assuming progression!.

20 minutes are more than enough to stimulate growth!. Many people exercise their egos, not their muscles!. They believe in order to get muscle you need to work with 20 sets and 1,000,000 exercises!.

Abbreviated is guaranteed to bring around growth!.

Good luck

To the guy below, could you please explain why you feel it necessary to add more exercises!?!?!?!? If one progresses on the BIG exercises that is the best!! Getting you heart rate up depends on how intense an exercise is performed!. I take it you haven't performed squats or deads very hard!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wow, that's some serious gym ADD!.

You're not maximizing your workout by doing so few exercises each week, so you should consider adding to this as you get into the routine!. You're also not getting your heart rate up by only doing 1-2 exercises a day, and if you don't have a good warm-up you could risk hurting yourself with stuff like dead-lifts and squats!. Take it from an ectomorph who has made that mistake himself!.

Consider bumping that up to 5-6 exercises a session, with a short warm-up jog and stretches!.

To the guy above, my routine used to be very squat and dead-lift centric, actually!. Dead lifts are my favorite exercise, but I haven't read anywhere or been told by anyone that doing so few exercises each session is ideal!.

The routines I've used are West Side (http://anabolicminds!.com/forum/powerlift!.!.!. ) and Chad Waterbury's Harbinger Hypertrophy (http://www!.t-nation!.com/free_online_arti!.!.!. )!.

My friend is currently doing the RippleToe regime, which he finds to be work pretty well (http://forum!.bodybuilding!.com/showthread!.!.!. ), but it's 3 exercises per session and he's an endomorph so he can really push his body more than I think ectomorphs should!. As I mentioned earlier, I've tried lower-rep, compound-centric, maximum effort workouts in the past and they've been really taxing on my body!. So be aware that as an ectomorph you may be more easily injured, and keeping the reps a little higher won't hurt either!.

I'm always open to new ideas if you can show me some articles or examples of such a minimalist workout, but I've always been told you should do more than that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
