PAIN!!!!! swelling...tenderness.... this is not something that you should take lightly..if you suspect that you have this then go to the doctor NOW!! if you do have this condition... then as you are sitting there typing a section of your bowels is not receiving blood supply and it will cause necrotic (dead) bowel this can kill you...go to the doctor and be checked....
Severe pain after a while. That's going to be your main symptom. Hernias normally don't hurt all that bad but as soon as it becomes strangulated, holy crap you are in for a treat.
You can also start vomitting feeling sick etc.
If you at all feel your hernia is strangulated don't eat anything (puts strain on intestines) and go to the ER. Strangulated hernias require emergency surgery to fix as you only have a couple hours before the intestines starts dying from lack of blood flow and you don't want to have part of your intestinse removed.
