Help about circumcision?!

Question: Help about circumcision?
I was wondering if I wanted to get circumsised and I had a few questions:
How long is the operation? (no pun intended)
Do they knock you out completely? (just Aesthetic down there or full knockout?)
How long does it hurt for?
When can I masturbate again after the operation?
Ps: I am a 13 year old teen

Answers:

There are many types of circumcision to consider, there are "high and tight" and "low and loose" and you can Research which kind you would prefer because some types remove more than others and can make the skin tight when erect, and it done poorly or it is unaware that you have a "growing" penis, erection can be painful afterwords.
you can be knocked out(the will also give you anesthetic for pain after you wake up so u wont feel it), or given anesthetic, most doctors should give you the option.
masturbation should not be not be done until stitches are healed (Any where from 2-6 weeks depending on what method they use)
The surgery takes about 15-20 minutes, (including time for anesthetic to work)
and if you read the AAP's website, consider that they have recently considered changing their stand point on it because the idea that cancers, STD, and UTI's are less likely have never been proven.

I give kudos to your parents on letting you have the choice instead of making the choice for you when you were younger!

Numerous websites having reseached it for college and religious classes as well as aiding a curious boyfriend about the process!

It is a day procedure (in and out in the same day). They do knock you out so you don't feel the pain. The recovery time is about 6 weeks before it is healed and the swelling goes down. You may be able to have some mild masturbation after about 4 weeks, but everyone is different. It is very painful for the first couple of days, and if you are not used to having your foreskin back all the time, you will be very sensitive to any touching for a few days as well.
Why are you thinking of having it done?

Hope this helped a bit...

talking to friends who have had it done later in their teens

It's just an hour or so if you are not put to sleep. IF you are put to sleep it's a whole day thing and the procedure basically just doubled in price. Stick with just a local numbing and it won't take long.

There can be both but like I said, general anestetic costs A LOT more. Plus it makes the procedure like major surgery when it doesn't have to be.

Depends on your pain tolorence, couple days.

No masturbation for 4-6 weeks. no exceptions.

I recomend you wait until you are an adult to make your decision as this is a very serious decision and you need to do TONS of research and know what you really want before doing it. Circumcision has a lot of downsides, make sure you are aware of this. It removes a lot of sensitivity and function from the penis. Sex isn't as good after.
Plus how are you going to talk your parents into spending a few thousand? This isn't covered by medical insurance.

I've restored my foreskin.

Really, these questions are the wrong ones to ask. You should be more concerned about the long-term effects, which are serious and severely damaging to your sex life.

But since I'm forced to answer:

You'd probably be in the hospital for a couple of hours.
Anaesthetic can be local, but it depends on the place you get it done.
It hurts for up to two weeks.
You should avoid any sex for at least four to six weeks, depending upon the rate you heal.

1) I think it's about 20-30 minutes
2) I think they'll give you a local anethesia
3) it will hurt till it's healed. I had sutures in my eyebrow after a bike accident and it wasn't "painful" but I had to be careful. I know it isn't my dick but it's stitches...
4) I think you'll know when you'll be ready.

Ps. I doubt you're really 13 but if you really are, I hope it helped

Don't get a circumcision, it severs nerves that are important for getting an erection and for pleasure. Nerves do not grow, but will eventually re-route signals to the brain. Re-routing can take as little as 10 years, but also may never happen at all.

u can masturbate wen the wound has healed...which wud b 2 weeks i guess....it doesnt hurt very bad...nthin unbearable or even close to unbearable...regarding the others ask the douctor u wud go to..

Watch "Ike's Wee Wee" episode of south park, but seriously it takes like a few minutes not that long I don't think it hurts as bad as they say

why the FCUK would u wanna do that? ur then cutting off part of ur d!ck...

You are 13 and you should not be so eager to conform. Be proud you have a WHOLE penis. DO not be embarrassed. after all it is circumcised men who have been injured.

What is the foreskin? is a question that many Americans would have trouble answering. Information about the foreskin is virtually absent during discussions of anatomy in biology classrooms, and yet, the foreskin provides a well-documeted set of crucial sensory, protective, immunological, hygienic, and sexual functions. The foreskin is a double fold of skin that is twice as big as its appearance. It can make up to 80% or more of the penile skin covering, and includes around 12-20 square inches of skin (the size of a 3x4 or a 4x5 index card!), and in turn includes a specialized sheet of dartos muscle(42,44). One of the functions of this mobile skin system is to glide up and down the shaft of the penis in order to facilitate non-abrasive stimulation during sexual activity without any need for artificial lubricant. This frictionless gliding mechanism is the principal source of stimulation for the intact penis and facilitates non-abrasive intercourse.

The neuro-anatomy of the penis has been rigorously studied by respected anatomists of all kinds. The component tissues that comprise the foreskin are richly innervated with the greatest quantity and variety of sensory nerve endings than any other part of the penis.(43,44,45,46,47,48,49,50,51) Many people are surprised to discover that the glans or “head” of the penis is actually the least sensitive part.(44,50,51)

To no surprise, this information was corroborated in a 2006 study which measured the sensitivity of all the parts of the penis. Researchers used an extremely sensitive pressure sensing probe while each test subject, whose view was blocked with a screen, reported a sensation of touch. To demonstrate precision they took each measurement multiple times. The results were statistically consistent. They concluded:

"Five locations on the uncircumcised penis that are routinely removed at circumcision were more sensitive than the most sensitive location on the circumcised penis[...] The glans in the circumcised male is less sensitive to fine-touch pressure than the glans of the uncircumcised male[...]The most sensitive location on the circumcised penis is the circumcision scar on the ventral surface [...] When compared to the most sensitive area of the circumcised penis, several locations on the uncircumcised penis that are missing from the circumcised penis were significantly more sensitive."(51)
