Does rogain actually work?!

Question: Does rogain actually work?
My hair has been starting to thin out in the top back, and it is starting to concern me.

I was wondering does rogain actually work. I don't believe too much in it regrowing my hair, but I was hoping does it maybe stop or slow down the hair loss process.

Hi Loki,

Yes, Rogaine does work for many individuals. It is best used to slow down balding and retain what hair is left on the head, but Rogaine is not considered a viable solution for those looking to restore hair on the top of the head or at the hairline. It does not cure or fix baldness. While it can delay the loss of additional hair due to androgenic alopecia, any hair retained or regrown with Rogaine will be lost within a few months after the drug is stopped. The manufacturer, Johnson & Johnson, would tell you that their product is not effective in the frontal area, which is the area of most concern to most patients, especially the frontal hairline. They claim that approximately 8-10% of users achieve cosmetically effective growth and another 20% get vellus (or peach fuzz) growth.

You can try Rogaine and determine how effective it is for you, as each individual responds to medication differently. If you are looking to restore hair and not merely retain existing hair, surgical hair restoration is the best bet. To learn more about the causes of hair loss and the recommended treatment options, please visit your physician or dermatologist. You can also set up a free consultation with a Bosley professional who will be more than willing to answer all your questions and recommend the best treatment for you. I hope that helps answer your question.

It's true what was said above, Rogaine isn't primed to make your hair grow back.
I would look into other things, such as Biotin, or maybe even hair growth oil.
You might want to try some shampoos, although I am not too familiar with that method, so I can't account for it.

It only works for some people. Not everybody. Anything you've gained - you will lose once you stop using Rogaine.
