Circumcision - can't wear clothes due to glans - depressed?!

Question: Circumcision - can't wear clothes due to glans - depressed?
I got circumcised nearly 3 weeks ago. I am 29 years old, and have a job. Previously, I had severe phimosis and a buried penis, it had never been exposed before all these years. Everything is now healing well. The only thing which is making me depressed is the glans. On the contrary to a lot that I have read, I actually want the sensitivity to go away. This was the real reason I had this done in the first place.

The sensitivity is too great that I cannot leave the house because I can't put on some briefs / underwear or pants. I have a small penis which means that I can't really push my penis upwards when wearing briefs. So the head is horizontal when i stand up and it hits the briefs.

Based on everything I've read on the internet, it sounds like most people get over this in 2-3 weeks (I'm referring to glans sensitivity), but I'm not sure why my glans is so sensitive even at the 3 week point post circumcision!

I know this will get better with time, and my doctor says that. But I really need to get back to work.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I do feel quite depressed about this scenario as I have been alone at home for the last 3 weeks. When my wife is back from work, it's great but I feel depressed because I can't take her out and be a good husband.

I dont' want any answers questioning the circumcision as it is a done deal and I had to do it because all other techniques did not work.

Thanks.

You aren't wearing clothing, so you aren't getting your glans used to sensation so the sensitivity won't go away. You are causing the delay in the sensitivity loss.

You are just going to have to suck it up one day and wear your clothes. It shouldn't be THAT painful that you can't just deal with it. I mean it will be anoying but it shouldn't be unbearable. Also try wearing LOOSE underwear, the tighter stuff probably rubs more. Also wear looser pants. But you are going to have to leave your glans exsposed so it can lose that sensitivity.

Well first off you should not have had it done, there was a simple cure, the doctor could have just made a small incision to loosen it, he just wanted the money and didn't care about you.

Try some creams that have desensitizing ingredients in them. Lidocaine or Emla cream might help until the your glans become less sensitive. The effect from the creams are temporary, but should help you get through the day.

Your willy needs some exposure to the sun to toughen it up. Find a local nudist beach or resort and get some sun. Or if you have a private backyard that works too.

Wear a condom on it, to minimize the friction with clothing while you are out and about, and don't wear it when home.

Circumcision will eventually cause most of the feeling in your glans to disappear.

There are other treatments for phimosis, circumcision is never necessary nor desirable.

Circumcision is a fraud and a hoax.

A foreskin is not a birth defect; it is a birthright.

Why on Earth would your doctor have agreed to circumcise you when steroid cream and stretching exercises is the proper course of treatment for phimosis?

There is no way to reduce the sensitivity. You can try desensitizing creams, but essentially it's going to remain sensitive for some time - a good few weeks more. After a while you'll get used to it and you will eventually find that the lack of sensitivity causes problems.

Why in Heaven's name don't people look into these things BEFORE they have an irreversible procedure done? A quick search on the internet would have forewarned you that this situation was going to happen. I mean, what do you folks do? Do you just decide to get something like this done on a whim, or what?

The fact is, if you didn't know this was going to happen, you basically deserve what you got. It's not hard to do just a little research.
