if you smoke a lot around a 5 month old boy, can that affect his health?!

Question: If you smoke a lot around a 5 month old boy, can that affect his health?
my brother is a heavy smoker and he smokes in house a lot too even when he is around our 5 month old son. He lifts him plays, plays with him but has lit cigarette in his mouth.

Answers:

that is HORRIBLE for the child. i would ask him to smoke outdoors.

Second hand smoke is REALLY bad for children...especially infants. There are studies that show that it increases in the number of asthma attacks and severity of symptoms and causes lower respiratory tract infections resulting in 7,500 to 15,000 hospitalizations each year. Adults should NEVER smoke around infants..mainly because infants can't go to another room or outside on their own...they're trapped in the smoke with whoever is smoking. If your brother MUST smoke, ask him to do it outside..if not for his health ...at least for yours and your baby.

Smoking effects the smoker and everyone around them. I'd try to help your brother stop. It has bad effects with lungs and can kill you. It is dangerous for a baby to be by anyone smoking. If you can't get your brother to quiet (which I highly suggest) then ask him to take it outside.

Of course it's dangerous. Second hand smoke is just as bad as smoking. Even if a person isn't the direct smoker, it can still lead to lung cancer and emphysema.

Tell him to stop around the baby!

Smoking kills adults! imagine what it is doing to your baby, whose lungs are 10x smaller.
Of course its dangerous.

Smoking is horrible for ANYONE and everyone. It causes cancer and can cause other health problems such as Asthma. Tell him to stop.

myself, Google

YES, of course it's dangerous! Second smoke is bad for anyone who doesn't smoke. When smoking around someone else, they inhale the smoke whether they want to or not.

smoking affects the smoker and that whos around him since u guys are adults so its not gonna make huge problems for ya but for the 5month old boy hell yes u gotta make him stop and if u need to be convinced ask a doctor
