My Dad is forcing me to get braces?!

Trust me, the process to put braces on totally painless. The only real problem
Is that you have to keep your mouth open for about 3 hours lol. At first, It might feel like they're sticking out, but it's really not lol. But the real pain comes after they put on the wires and the bands. Your teeth with will be in so much pain and you'll only be able to eat soft foods because your teeth are so SORE! But after a week or two you'll be fine :D. You might even forget they're there(I did) lol. The only problem after that is that you have to get them tightened every month. Some ppl gets used to it, some don't. The spacers are there to widen the gap btwn your teeth so they can put the things(I forgot what it's called) in. Getting braces is a good thing. I have them, and then when i'm older i will have perfect teeth. Headgear just feels like you are wearing something on your head. It doesn't hurt or anything, it will just help the process of straightening your teeth. Spacer is just a little elastic that they put in between your back teeth before you get braces. All they do is just make a space so that they can put the medal band around your tooth for the braces wire. Yeah you can still play sports, i play soccer and hockey and baseball, and they dont even make me wear a mouth gard.

Personal Experience

yea im a senior in highschool, i had braces from 7th grade to 9th grade, headgear would be at night though, I had to wear spacers that took like a couple weeks (the little rubberbands places inbetween your teeh right?...they just space out room for brackets to be places in) that was no big deal, I would take the opportunity though! the time will go fast anyways! yea i really doubt they will make you wear headgear during the day, so tons of kids wear braces and still do basketball :)

i have never had braces but i have tons of friends at school who do and it doesn't change a thing one of my friends got braces and i didn't even notice until 2 weeks later i don't think braces are something you need to worry about

get them m8 trust me< i turned them down when i was 16 and god do i regret it, now im 21 with crooked teeth and it is a serious put off for girls, thats why im thinking of dental implants but id much rather have my own teeth,
