Most physically fit guys should be able to bench press their body weight. That's assuming our not some 300 pound obese guy.
FIRST YOU MUST BE CONSISTENT IN YOUR EXERCISE. THAT MEANS IF YOU ATTEMPT ONCE IN A WHILE, YOU MAY NOT BE IN SHAPE.
SECONDLY IF YOUR CARDIAC STATUS IS NOT IN GOOD SHAPE YOU SHOULD NOT DO IT.
IF YOU ARE A DIABETIC CHECK BLOOD SUGAR BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT. IF IT IS OVER 240 OR LESS THAN 60 YOU SHOULD NOT OVERSTREE.
IF YOU HAVE HERNIA OR IF YOUR HEART RATE IS ALREADY TOO FAST YOU SHOULD SEE A DOCTOR AND FIX IT BEFORE YOU CONTEMPLATE ON DOING STRENUOUS THING. ANY RATE EXERTION SHOULD NOT RAISE PULSE RATE BY MORE THAN 30/MIN FROM BASELINE-REMEMBER THIS DICTUM. HOPE I HELPED YOU IN SOME WAY. BE SAFE. GOOD LUCK.
