My testicles are in pain. Is it serious? How do I fix it?!

Question: My testicles are in pain. Is it serious? How do I fix it?
Every so often, I have very intense pain in my testicles. The pain goes from my testicles up to the area where my pubic hair is. It seems like every time this happens, I'm with my girlfriend. not the same girlfriend but it always happens when I'm with a girlfriend. It happens even when it doesn't get sexual. It happens when I'm just holding her sometimes. This started happening when I was 15 or 16 and it hadn't happened in about 5 months. It happened again yesterday. I'm 17 now. I didn't start puberty until I was 15. Idk if that has anything to do with it but it might. When it happens, my scrotum turns red and it hurts so bad, I can't even touch my testicles. Any ideas on whats going on here and what I should do?

I'm a testicular cancer survivor and suggest you do the self-exam for testicular cancer, or “man exam.” Symptoms vary greatly from man to man, but testicle pain and discomfort are common symptoms. And TC is the #1 cancer for men 15-35. The sooner a doctor can catch it the better the prognosis, and most likely the less treatment will be required. It could also be a blocked vein, infection, or benign cyst, but all of those things also need a doctor's attention. Don't worry till you have to - only a doctor can make an accurate diagnosis! This site has links to credible testicular cancer resources, and shows the self-exam with a list of symptoms. Good luck and hopefully it's nothing serious.

What you're experiencing is "blue balls", a slang term for the ache that happens when a male experiences prolonged sexual arousal without relief. The best remedy is ejaculation through whatever means seems most appropriate.
