Question: Please help! Wieghts, puberty growth!!!!?
Ok so I'm 15, I'm a late bloomer, I'm only 5 ft 2 havnt had a major growth spurt yet tho, but anyway, Im small, n get jokes thrown at me yeh, so I was planning on building up some muscel, I was gna buy some gym equipment, I want to do this for my own self convidence, not just cuz of the bullies, but say if I was doing heavy wieghts everyday, or low wieghts and high reps, would this effect my growth n slow it down? And prevent my growth spurt? Thanks everyone. If u have experiance u know, bullies make ur life hard

This much repeated urban myth that exercise, particularly weight lifting in some way retards growth, has no basis in fact. Males continue to grow until aged 18 ± 3 years, so you still have scope for further growth.

You should be fine, but dont work out every day it damages and takes longer to build, work out every other of once every three days... good luck



Its an old wives tail, im 14 and been doing weights for 6 months and im still growing...

it can stunt your growth a little bit...but as long as you dont go too hard you will be okay
try low weight high reps, dont push it too hard



Why don't you learn to use proper spelling instead of buying "wieghts". That won't effect your hieght, will it?
