Do guys feel an emotional attachment after sex?!

The last time me and the guy I'm seeing had sex, we did it twice that day. But I have anxiety and worry a lot. I'm not on birth control, so he used a condom. After the first time we had it, I made him fill the condom with water to make sure it didn't break. After the second time we had it, I felt the condom right after he finished to see if it broke. He said, 'dude your freaking me out.'
We haven't hung out and he hasn't called me much since then. But today we talked on the phone and he told me that he thinks that we shouldn't have sex anymore because it makes him get attached to me, which he doesn't want because he's going into the military which is why we are not in a relationship. But I'm thinking about it, and do you think he could be lying to me and the real reason why he doesn't want to have sex is because of how I acted the last time we did it?
