Husband complains of testicular pain this morning... worried...?!

Question: Husband complains of testicular pain this morning... worried...?
My husband complained of a pain in one of his testicles. Its not a constant pain but he tells me that if he sits a certain way or pushes slightly down on the testicle the pain returns. The pain doesn't cripple him he says its just an uncomfortable pain and the pain only stays in the area of his testicle no shooting pain up to the abdomin. I told him he should go to the hospital but he is stubborn and I really don't know what to do (i mean it's not like i know what he's going through). The last few days we have had more sex than usual... he has had no trauma to his testicles either... not even in the last month has he had any trauma down there. I am just so worried because the only article i could find online about testicular pain instructed us to seek medical help right away until a non emergancy can be proven... and with it being a holiday and all walk in clinics closed... the husband refuses to wait 6 hours in a waiting room at the hospital. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INSIGHT TO WHAT IT MIGHT BE????

Hi Missy,

In general, he should see a health care provider immediately if he has sudden onset testicular pain, particularly if the pain is severe or associated with nausea.

Apply an ice pack to the scrotum to help relieve pain and swelling. Do not place the ice directly on scrotum (Use a bag of frozen food, etc.) or wrap ice in a cloth.

Pain medicines such as ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), naproxen (Aleve), and acetaminophen (Tylenol) also may help temporarily.

The cases you have read about are referring to things such as Torsion, Epididymitis, Hernia, Tumor, etc. However, some guy's will occasionally just have sore balls. Especially after sex. And you mentioned you have had it often the last few days.

I know you have herd of "Blue balls" from no sex....It's the same with too much/too often. Not that it's bad to have it too much/too often, just that it can make them sore.

Since there has been no trauma, I would suggest to just have him take it easy and use the ice (If he feels it necessary) for now. Most often, this will subside and go away. It really does "Just happen" to guy's every now and then.

Yet, if this pain gets even a slight bit worse, he becomes sick, etc. he needs to go to the ER immediately. Missy, people know their own bodies, and if it gets to the point of this type of pain from any of the things listed above, he will beg you to take him in, believe me!

So, keep an eye on him and like I said, if it gets worse (And I don't mean to the point of unbearable), I mean just painfully worse....Take him in.

Hope all works out well.

You....And him, take care!

Humm no trama just the act of sex can be traumatizing to a guys balls the slapping against her while doing the deed could bruse them give it a few days and tell him to use a jock or boxerbriefs or birefs to support his balls and see what happends.

I'm a testicular cancer survivor and suggest he does the self-exam for testicular cancer, or “man exam.” Symptoms vary greatly from man to man, but testicle pain and discomfort are common symptoms. And TC is the #1 cancer for men 15-35. The sooner a doctor can catch it the better the prognosis, and most likely the less treatment will be required. It could also be a blocked vein, infection, or benign cyst, but all of those things also need a doctor's attention. Don't worry till you have to - only a doctor can make an accurate diagnosis! This site has links to credible testicular cancer resources, and shows the self-exam with a list of symptoms. Good luck and hopefully it's nothing serious.

There are only two things it could be.
1.) his vas deferins are twisted. If this is the case, he would be in constant pain and unable to walk. Based on what you say about him not being crippled it most likely is not this. If you twist these tubes, you literally are unable to walk the pain is so great.

2.) he has testicular cancer. I suggest he goes in ASAP to have it treated. If you wait, they will have to surgerically remove his testical. Cancer spreads very fast in the reproductive cycle because the rate of mitosis of the sex gametes if faster. If it is testicular cancer (which is probably is) he needs to start treatment within the first week or 2 of feeling pain, otherwise it is too late and the only treatment is testical removal by surgery.
